Beautiful Specimens

Nothing's more inspiring than nature....

I enjoyed a lovely post Christmas trip to the Horniman Museum - one of my favourites for admiring the colours and textures of feathered friends, fossils and shells in peace.

Today's inspiration has come from......

I developed some of the imagery above into fashion prints.....with inspiration comes ideas and development :)

using feathers and mirroring the image for this dress

I love this placement on the pleated dress, a bit of an oriental feel too

Astronomy Photographer of the Year - Greenwich Observatory

A beautiful collection of photographs at this year's Astronomy of the Year Exhibition. The colours captured are absolutely stunning and very inspiring.

I would love to see this for myself one day

More from Copenhagen, Autumn 2011

funky ping pong table at the park

an insight into a MA architecture studio!
Want to see a sneaky peek inside an architecture studio at the prestigious Royal Danish School of Architecture? The following images were taken from inside a Masters level studio. I'm very lucky my brother is studying there so I get to nosey around! Some very inspiring things. Definitely great textile pattern inspiration

Ok, I'm a complete cheapskate, and have resulted in photographing pages from magazines in the cafe's. Danish magazines are by far the best I've ever come across - I love Costume Magazine - always full of great images and stylish photoshoots. There's a great second hand magazine shop opposite the Laundromat Cafe on Elmegade

Paul Klee & Cobra were exhibiting in Copenhagen while I was there. Sadly I didn't make it but I had a look at the catalogue - love these images...

And some final words from a wise Danish guy.....
